Terms of Service

1. The Service

Iris Studio is a native desktop application for AI-powered creative workflows, including image and video generation, media management, and moodboard creation. The web platform provides account management, billing, workspace administration, and credit tracking.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Each user is limited to one workspace. You may invite team members to your workspace with defined roles (admin or member).

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Plans & Pricing

Free plan

You may use the Service for free to explore the studio, manage workspaces, boards, and projects. AI generation requires a paid subscription. BYOK (Bring Your Own API Keys) support is planned for a future release.

Paid plans (Managed Credits)

Paid plans provide managed credits so you can generate content without setting up your own API keys. Credits are deducted per generation based on the model, resolution, and duration of the output. Pricing details are available on our pricing page.

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You can cancel at any time — your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before price changes take effect.

4. Refunds

Unused credits are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. If you experience a technical issue that results in lost credits (e.g., a failed generation that was still charged), contact our support team and we will review your case.

Subscription refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge to request a review.

5. Your Content & Data

Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate using the Service. Iris Studio does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

Local storage

The desktop application stores your creative work — including generated media, prompts, moodboards, collections, and templates — locally on your device in a SQLite database. This data is under your control and is not uploaded to our servers unless you use managed credits.

Responsibility

You are responsible for the content you generate. You agree not to use the Service to create content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or that violates any third party's rights.

6. AI-Generated Content

Content generated through Iris Studio is produced by third-party AI models (Replicate, Fal.ai, Kling AI). The ownership and usage rights for AI-generated content are subject to the terms of the respective AI provider. We recommend reviewing:

Iris Studio does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. You are solely responsible for reviewing and using generated content in compliance with applicable laws.

7. API Keys & Third-Party Services

When using managed credits, Iris Studio routes your generation requests through supported AI providers on your behalf. You are responsible for complying with each provider's acceptable use policies.

Iris Studio is not responsible for service outages from AI providers or any changes to their APIs or pricing.

8. Desktop Application

The desktop application is provided as a downloadable binary for macOS and Windows. By installing it, you agree that:

• The application stores data locally on your device — you are responsible for backups
• The application requires internet access to communicate with AI providers and our authentication servers
• We may release updates that fix bugs, improve performance, or add features — we recommend keeping the app up to date
• You will not reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the application

9. Device Management

When you connect the desktop application to your workspace, your device is registered with basic information (device name, platform, OS version, app version). Workspace admins can view connected devices and revoke access at any time.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Overload or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond normal usage
• Circumvent any usage limits, credit systems, or access controls

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Availability & Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI-generated content will meet your expectations
• Third-party AI providers will remain available or maintain their current pricing

We strive to maintain high availability but may need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect access.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iris Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or creative work.

Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Account Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. Upon cancellation:

• Your local data remains on your device
• Server-side data (account, workspace, usage history) will be deleted upon request
• Unused credits are non-refundable
• Active subscriptions continue until the end of the billing period

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.
